For our capstone project Common Ground: Freedom, my team and I collaborated to build a website using Elementor. We combined efforts across different committees, integrating content gathered by the language committee and incorporating individual student photos styled using the branding committee’s visual treatments. While the site is still a work in progress, it’s nearly complete and already reflects the cohesive identity we envisioned. Eventually, the website will also feature motion elements to bring the experience to life even further.

Trial & Motion

Experimenting with several other motion tests to explore how movement could enhance the visual language of the Common Ground site. These experiments allowed me to play with transitions, layering, and pacing. While they didn’t fully align with the final direction of the site, the process helped refine what worked and what didn’t, within the evolving design system.

Laying the Foundation

As part of the Common Ground capstone project, we created detailed mockups to plan the structure and flow of the website using Elementor. These mockups helped us visualize the layout, apply branding treatments, and ensure a cohesive experience across all pages. They served as a collaborative blueprint that guided the development of the live site.

Movement in the Making

To give a glimpse into the interactive feel of the final website, we created a sample GIF that captures motion tests and visual transitions. It previews how the site will eventually come to life through subtle movement, reinforcing the energy and tone established by the branding, collateral, and language committees.
