Of The Land

This curriculum booklet delves into the Taíno people of Puerto Rico, exploring their culture, art, and lasting influence on the island’s heritage. Drawing from my own connection to the island, the curriculum highlights the materials and methods the Taíno used in their daily lives, from their intricate ceramics to their artistic symbols. The booklet also features artists who specialize in Taíno themes, alongside readings and research that illuminate their historical significance. The design uses natural earth tones—greens, creams, and browns—to evoke a sense of connection to the land and culture, creating a visually harmonious experience that reflects the Taíno’s deep relationship with nature.
