Zine: Held In Memory

This zine explores the emotional and psychological impact of Alzheimer’s disease on both the patient and their family members. Through an intimate and empathetic lens, the project follows the journey of caregivers as they navigate the challenges of watching their loved one’s memory fade. The design uses both warm and cool colors, combined with a noise treatment that creates a grainy, textured effect to evoke the sense of old, fading memories. The visual language mirrors the gradual loss of clarity experienced by those with Alzheimer’s, offering a subtle yet powerful representation of the disease’s effects.

Designing Time

These mockups showcase the Alzheimer’s zine in real-world settings, bringing the tactile experience of the zine to life. The soft, textured aesthetic reflects the emotional weight of Alzheimer’s while maintaining a sense of accessibility and understanding for the reader.

Moments Captured

The stills from the Alzheimer’s zine highlight key moments in the design that capture the emotional journey of caregivers. Using warm and cool tones alongside noise effects, these images convey the sense of disorientation and fading memory associated with Alzheimer’s. The visual language complements the project's emotional depth, inviting viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between loss and love.
